Innocence To Experience

Today I stand,
Under the open skies,
Where apathy rules,
Where freedom gives flight to wings,
Thinking of yesterday's innocence,
A child's ignorance,
Fallen with the fallen light,
Buried under the same soil,
Trodden by one of many,
No markings of its death nor mere existence,
Just an empty, hollow cocoon hangs untouched,
Swaying in the sharp wind,
An innocence to an experience,
With tomorrow to perform again,
Only less to laugh at and more to learn.
